Kourtney Kardashian is back on keto diet to lose quarantine weight

Earlier in the coronavirus pandemic, Kourtney Kardashian revealed she gained some weight in lockdown and was loving her new curves.

It seems, however, that the 41-year-old is ready to slim back down and she is turning to the restrictive keto diet to help her shed the weight.

Kourtney revealed that she's been doing keto for 'several weeks' in order to feel and look her best and offered up her secrets for staying on track with the diet in a new Trim down: Kourtney Kardashian is back on the restrictive keto diet in order to slim down after gaining weight in quarantine, the star revealed Wednesday on her website Poosh

The mom of three has been doing the keto diet for three weeks and admitted that while she finds it easy to start the eating plan, it's hard to stick with it. 'Staying with it is the hard part,' Kourtney wrote. 'It's not even about willpower as much as it is convenience.Running around with my kids, attending events and meetings, and keeping myself fueled for my busy schedule is the real challenge.' This is the second time that Kourtney has tried the ketogenic or keto diet, which is high in fat and extremely low in carbohydrates, in order to quickly tone up. According to a Harvard Health letter, the diet forces the body to get energy by using a different type of fuel, ketone bodies, which are stored in the liver, rather than carbohydrates.  'Staying with it is the hard part,' Kourtney wrote. 'It's not even about willpower as much as it is convenience. Running around with my kids, attending events and meetings, and keeping myself fueled for my busy schedule is the real challenge.'On the diet the body goes into a state of ketosis (which is when fat stores get burned up) and Kourtney revealed that she tests her blood every single morning to check her status.'I make sure to test my blood every morning using this easy test. It's the only real way to accurately check my blood sugar and see if I'm in ketosis, and it gives me an idea of what items will throw off my diet the least and the worst,' she admitted.Rather than 'cheat days' the E! star explained that she allows herself to have 'treat yourself days' like holidays or her daughter Penelope's recent birthday.'After most treat days, it takes me a full day or two to get back into ketosis. After the 4th of July, it took me three days. It's a good reminder to find my limits of indulgence and to monitor my sugar intake,' she said.
