Abstract

This work presents the main features of a surveillance system based on High Frequency Surface Wave RADAR (HFSWR). Nowadays, the School of Electrical Engineering, together with the Chilean Navy, is beginning the study of HFSWR technology in order to determine the feasibility of its application in the coast of Chile. The first stage of this study focuses on the arrangement of the receiving system elements and the development of algorithms for the digital conformation of the receiving beam (beam-forming).
