Fibroma ossificante periférico mandibular recidivante
Abstract
O fibroma ossificante periférico integra o grupo das lesões proliferativas não neoplásicas, surge como resposta tecidual a estímulos crônicos de longa duração e se manifesta, principalmente, como um nódulo bem delimitado e indolor. Trata-se de uma patologia de crescimento lento, frequente na gengiva marginal livre e papila interdental, é predominante em maxila e apresenta elevado índice de recidiva. Objetiva-se relatar um caso de fibroma ossificante periférico mandibular recidivante em uma paciente do sexo feminino, 38 anos de idade que foi encaminhada ao Serviço de Estomatologia da Faculdade de Odontologia da Universidade Federal da Bahia.
