Estimate methods of biogas generation in sanitary landfill
Abstract
Product of the decomposition of organic material, the biogas presents as main representatives of his composition the carbon dioxide (CO2) and the methane (CH4), being this last one a possible fuel of being collected and used as source of energy. Different methods exist to calculate the amount of generated methane, from methods that present a rude approach, considering only the amount of domestic solid residue disposed in the landfill, even methods that consider a kinetics of biogas generation, function of three important types of parameters (local climatic conditions, concentration of nutrients in the soil and composition of the residue). To evaluate the methods of estimate of biogas generation in sanitary landfill, to apply a mathematical model based on a fictitious population, to discuss the applied estimates in each method and to obtain a conclusion to this respect they are objective of this work.Downloads
