Abstract

Operational activities in field or risk environments make execution and coordination of actions
quite complex. In order to assist activities in extreme situations, a sensorized vest prototype
with embedded and wearable technology was proposed and developed, which allows user to
keep their attention on main activity, leaving it to a wearable electronic assistant to monitor
important variables of environment in time real, interpreting and making this information
available to user, throughout operation. In such a way that if there is imminent danger user can
be alerted. The sensorized vest prototype is a wearable device composed of an autonomous
control system, with Fuzzy Logic (FL) feature, operated on a microcontroller with multiple
sensors, combined with a remote communication, transmission and energy management system
for applications in civilian or military environment. When in operation, vest captures data on
changes in environment or user so that this information is made available to user and/or to an
operational base. The device must be capable of simulating a type of artificial personal assistant
embedded in form of wearable technology. The device must be interpreted as a wearable
machine, allowing a high capacity for interaction between the equipment and user. Throughout
this paper, approach embedded fuzzy controller is highlighted, with emphasis on integration of
electronic devices for professional use field.
