Implementation of fuzzy logic controllers using FPGA or ASIC
Abstract
Fuzzy logic controllers are generally implemented using on general-purpose microprocessors being that this kind of implementation produces very satisfactory results in application of control. In this paper will be presented other abordagens of implementations, FPGA or ASIC, used for produce systems of control based in the fuzzy logic. FPGA allows to the designer to make future modifications of way more quick and more efficient, when compared with implementations by microprocessors, being that the modifications can be carried out on-board. Another great advantage of the implementation of fuzzy logic controller based in FPGA is the use of some hardware programming language, as VHDL or VERILOG, that becomes the independent project developed of the manufacturer of the programmable device. ASIC also can be developed agreement with the specifications of a data customer, being then possible to optimize the maximum the performance of the system of control.Downloads
