Effective management of collaborative robots (cobots) is essential for industrial safety and productivity in modern operations. Sustainable Development Goal number 9 (SDG 9) focuses on promoting industrialization by fostering innovation that is accessible to all and respects the environment. The objective of this research is to strategically integrate cobots into a company in order to significantly reduce the risks associated with repetitive, dangerous or anti-ergonomic activities. The methodology used includes technical reading and publications related to the subject with the development of a virtual prototype and its analysis in the manufacturing process. As a result, collaborative automation will simultaneously optimize processes, increasing efficiency and enabling the human workforce to focus on higher value-added activities and in a healthier, safer and more productive work environment. It is concluded that this research, in addition to addressing the importance of automation in industrial safety, the evolution of protection systems and the use of modern technology, such as cobots and autonomous intelligent robots for transporting loads, also opens the discussion on the historical context, practical applications, advantages, challenges and future perspectives of the use of robotics and automation in the industrial environment. As future work, research adopting intelligent systems in areas of movement and factory storage is suggested.
