Applications of Fibonacci sequence in thermal engineering
Abstract
The Fibonacci sequence, with many applications in nature and arts is discussed in this present work. First of all, an analysis of the divergence of the series built with the Fibonacci sequence, using known necessary conditions for convergence, is made. Next, two cases are analised with the aim of illustrating applications of the Fibonacci sequence in thermal engineering, based on the analogy between electrical and thermal resistances. The first one is the case of plane fins, that includes heat transfer by conduction and convection. It is presented the corresponding electrical circuit, based on that analogy. At last, the effective thermal resistance is calculated for a case involving thermal radiation heat transfer, using the Fibonacci sequence. fggfgfgDownloads
