Biogas Use to Dry Sludge of Water Treatment and Electricity Energy Generation in a Brewery Industry
Resumen
This article presents an alternative for the rational use of the biogas produced in an anaerobic reactor
of ascending flow, of one it elaborates brewer. This study makes a theoretical analysis of the use of the energy
potential of the biogas for through generating motor to transform part of that energy in mechanical energy,
destining the remaining for drying of the mud generated in the reactor. One of the parameters that orientate
the work is the amount of necessary energy for the drying of every mud generated by the treatment of the
station brewer. The energy balance of the system allows evaluating the number of necessary generating motors
to produce enough discharge gases to dry the mud, before to destine for agricultural use. In the study of the
necessary energy to dry the mud, it was considered the energy spent in the heating of the mass, added of the
energy destined to the evaporation of the water contained in the mud. The results show that with a small motor
group generating is possible to dry the whole mud produced by the treatment of sewers, and still generate
electric power. The process can be incorporate easily to the treatment system of the company and still reduce
the costs final mud destination.
