Safety and environment information system on customer’s installations of petroleum products

Resumo

The present paper shows the design criteria of the development of Safety and Environment Information System of customer’s installations of petroleum products implemented at Petrobras , the Brazilian Oil Company. Petrobras in your distribution area has nowadays almost thirteen thousand installations on customers that use combustible oil and diesel oil. With this system, developed by Petrobras Distribuidora S.A, it is possible to get information on-line from storage system of petroleum products such as: electric circuit, pipeline, pumps, and painting of tanks. From this policy, Petrobras give importance to Safety and Environment encompass the whole life cycle of its operations to obtain sustainable development indicators such as number of audits of installations, environmental impact assessment, investments to repair installations and contaminated areas by oil spill. Environmental indicators are obtained from oil spill and waste data report and audits of installations. From analyses of these data and report of audit’s installations it is possible to take preventative measures to guarantee the safety of the installations and to avoid damage to the environment. The objective is to guarantee the reliability of operations and to be in accordance with the world tendency of environmental welfare. Petrobras intends, together with their partners, to maintain the commitment for sustainable development.
