Resumo

The pulsed Flux Cored Arc Welding process can be an alternative for welding of thin plates and in positional welding. However, the exploitation of the advantages of pulsed current FCAW process is dependent upon right selection of various pulsed parameters that influence the process. Therefore, this paper has the objective of to enlarge the knowledge on the influence of the pulse parameters besides the wire speed rate in a Gas-Shielded Flux Cored Arc Welding Process (FCAW) with a gas mixture of Ar-25%CO2 on the penetration of the weld bead and on the convexity of the weld bead. The results showed that all answers were greatly affected by the wire speed rate. Besides, it was obtained a condition that allowed to maximize the analyzed answers, and through her it was possible to adjust the conditions initially used, in way to investigate a new group of values for the studied parameters.
