Pós-GraduaçãoAbstract
This article investigates the profile of Physics research in Maranhão, based on the academic production of the Graduate Program in Physics (PPGF) of the Federal University of Maranhão (UFMA), the only one in the state in this area. Based on the analysis of dissertations and theses registered in the Capes database over a period of ten years, the study adopts an exploratory and descriptive approach, using a codebook as a tool for systematizing the data. The results indicate significant advances in the topics addressed, demonstrating an increase in the diversity of research areas. However, they also highlight important gaps, especially with regard to gender representation, with low participation of female researchers in scientific production. The study engages with the United Nations 2030 Agenda Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 5 (Gender Equality) and SDG 4 (Quality Education), by highlighting structural inequalities in scientific training and knowledge production and by contributing to reflections on inclusion policies and the strengthening of scientific research in the regional context.
