Abstract

The Cuvieri Cave, in the Lagoa Santa region, has three internal abysses, called loci 1, 2 and 3, with vertebrate remains that generated numerous paleontological studies. Locus 1 was the least studied in previous works, but it presented the first fossil of this locality, a specimen of Catonyx cuvieri. During the work carried out between 2002 and 2009, a small collection was made at Locus 1. The present contribution identifies the specimens of this small collection. Among the materials observed are amphibians, reptiles Colubridae, marsupials Didelphidae, rodents Cavioidea, the small Cervidae Mazama gouazoubira, the humerus of a young Tayassuidae, the humerus of a large indeterminate Tayassuidae, larger than living species, a phalanx of a small Felidae and a canine tooth of a small Canidae were also identified.
