In this paper a sampling was made of the Siluriformes fish fossils from the Tremembé formation, deposited in the collection of the natural history museum of Taubaté doctor Herculano Alvarenga (MHNT). 108 fossils were analyzed and to assist with the taxon identification, bibliographical reviews were carried out about the local paleoichthyofauna and descriptions of morphological characteristics of the skeleton of members of the order. All fossils were, carefully, identified based on the characters displayed. Among the analyzed material, 53 specimens were not registered in the catalogue book of the MHNT and were inserted, officially, in the museum paleontological collection through this study. Direct comparisons were made between the fossils and the bone material from the living fish, Steindachneridion parahybae, Pimelodus maculatus and Phractocephalus hemioliopterus. Among the fossils included in the paper, were identified pectoral-fin spines, dorsal-fin spines, spinelets, fragments of scapulo-coracoid from the pectoral girdle, fragments of neurocranium and fragments of the dentary bone. Among the 108 fossils belonging to the order Siluriformes, 20 pectoral spines and five dorsal spines were identified as belonging to the family Loricariidae. A partial neurocranium and three fossils of supraoccipital were designated as S. iheringi. A partial neurocranium was identified as S. silvasantosi.
